Placer LAFCO includes the County, cities, and special districts within Placer County. Placer LAFCO is required, by California law, to review each public agency in the county to confirm that services are provided efficiently and economically, and to determine the area of growth (spheres of influence) for the agencies. Determinations are made by a governing board of Commissioners that includes representatives of the member agencies and the public.
