The Placer County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) has adopted its Proposed  Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2027.

At its public hearing on April 8, 2026, the Commission approved the proposed budget and directed staff to further refine the workplan. The Commission will therefore utilize a two-phased approach for the review and adoption of the Final Workplan and Budget for FY 2026-2027 at public hearings held at the Placer County Board of Supervisors Chambers (175 Fulweiler Avenue, Auburn, CA 95603) on the following dates:

• May 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Phase 1): The Commission will review the refined Workplan and Budget.
• June 10, 2026 at 4:00 PM (Phase 2): The Commission will consider adoption of the Final Workplan and Budget.

Pursuant to State law (Government Code section 56381), we are circulating the proposed budget to our 44 funding agencies for review prior to final adoption.

The Proposed Workplan outlines 34 projects and tasks, most of which are ongoing and will carry forward into the new fiscal year. Following the resignation of the Executive Officer in late 2025, the Commission has maintained operations through one full-time staff member and a contracted management team. The Proposed Workplan emphasizes administrative stability and organizational continuity, consistent with the Strategic Plan 2024-2028+, including recruitment of a new Executive Officer.

We value your feedback and request that any comments be sent via email to lafco@placer.ca.gov by April 27, 2026, so they may be addressed in the staff report for the Phase 1 public hearing. Comments received after April 27 will be considered and, as necessary, addressed at the Phase 1 public hearing. Public comments may also be provided during each public hearing.
